Zimbabwe batsman Sean Williams cautioned host that he won’t make a similar mistake that made him pay in the first innings by depriving the batsman of a well-deserved hundred in the opening Test match against Zimbabwe at Sylhet on Saturday.

The left-hander is disappointed to lose his concentration that resisted him from picking his second Test hundred and vowed not to make repeat it again.

Williams, who scored ODI hundred against Bangladesh looked set to make a Test ton against Bangladesh in the opening day of the two-match series before he was removed by part-time spinner Mahmudullah when Mehidy Hasan took a brilliant catch at first slip.

“I have had a good tour so far but I want to continue to take advantage of my good form. I enjoy playing spin. It is one of my strengths. Obviously today I had a lapse of concentration on 88 which let me down in getting a three-figure score,” Williams told reporters after the match.

“I have to work hard again in the second innings to not let that happen.

“I kept on scoring mainly 60s and 70s. It started to hurt really bad. You see people around the world scoring hundreds. You see Kohli making hundreds for fun. I wanted to be part of that and contributing towards the team,” he said.

“Maturity is a big thing but the way that I have trained has changed. It is a process leading up to scoring hundreds. It is not walk out there and talent takes over, no. It actually starts from back at the hotel or at home. It has changed for me, and hopefully more runs start to come,” said Williams.
