The Bangladesh Cricket Board has announced that they will take the whole responsibility to provide medical service to severely ill former national cricketer Chameli Khatun.
The announcement came a day after it was reported that the all-rounder has been suffering a torn ligament and her condition is getting from bad to worse.

“We will take the whole responsibility of Chameli Khatun as she was part of Bangladesh cricket at some point of her life,” BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury told reporters at BCB headquarters on Wednesday (October 31).
“We have decided to provide all the required medical services that can help her returning to a normal life and we have instructed concerned authorities accordingly,” he added.
Chameli, 29, had been a part of the women’s national cricket team that featured in the 2010 Asia Cup but could not continue to prolong her career due to the ligament injury.
After tearing the ligament, lack of proper treatment led her to more complications relating spinal cord and at present it seems she is moving rapidly towards being paralytic due to damages of soft discs in-between spinal cord vertebrae.
According to media reports, her family members estimated Taka 10 lakh would help them get her fully treated.
