Sylhet Sixers failed to maintain their grip after starting well in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) last season. The Sylhet-based franchise is determined to win the title this time instead of having another disappointing season.
“Our first season did not go as expected as we did not get enough time. Now we have made all the preparations for winning the title. We made the selection of domestic and foreign cricketers that way. Getting a good cricketer from the draft would require luck. We will try to choose the best cricketers,” said Sylhet Sixers CEO Yasir Obaid.

The players’ draft for the upcoming season of the BPL will be held on October 28. Each side was allowed to sign two players from outside the draft and Sylhet Sixers have already roped in Sandeep Lamichhane and David Warner.
The Sixers have also retained Nasir Hossain, Sabbir Rahman, and Sohail Tanvir apart from signing Liton Das from the A+ category.
According to Waqar Younis, Sylhet’s coach, the team will be aiming for the best possible combination at the players’ draft to build a balanced team.
“Sylhet Sixers are preparing the team to win the title. All six players who have been confirmed are very well-tested for the T20 format. We also want to confirm the best domestic and foreign cricketers from the draft. I believe we can build a greatly-balanced team. We want the title in the sixth season,” said Waqar.
