It has so far been a bowlers’ game between Rangpur Division and Barisal Division in the fourth round of the National Cricket League. The Tier 1 clash between the two sides saw a total of 12 wickets fall on the first day at Rangpur.
Winning the toss, Barisal elected to field first. Their decision certainly paid off as the Rangpur batsmen fell like dominoes to the consistent probing from Barisal's bowling attack.
Despite a 62-run 3rd wicket stand from Rakin Ahmed and Naeem Islam, Rangpur could total only 147 runs, losing all their wickets. As soon as Monir Hossain dismissed Rakin for 46 runs, Sohag Gazi led the attack, taking five of the next six wickets.
Monir then wrapped up Rangpur’s innings by taking the opponents’ last wicket. Mosaddek Hossain and Towhid Hasan also picked up a wicket each in the same innings.

Barisal, too, were off to shaky start, losing two wickets at 13 runs as Subhasis Roy struck twice. However, Rafsan Al Mahmud and Al-Amin finished the day with an unbeaten 22-run stand and will resume the innings for Barisal on day-2.
The two teams faced each other in the first round at Barisal and the clash had ended in a draw.
