Bangladesh batsman Mohammad Mithun will certainly not compromise on his playing style as he is currently practicing to hone his stroke-playing skills. The wicketkeeper-batsman has now come out of the uncertainty that he used to face regarding his position in the team, as he has earned back-to-back national call-ups.
“I'm usually a stroke-player. I like playing strokes. When you play a big innings, you'll play some big shots, that's normal. I like to play side-strokes against pace-bowling and use my feet against the spinners.
“Actually, when you are batting under pressure, sometimes you even miss the loose balls. That's cricket. Still, I'm working on these. There is a lot of time ahead, I will keep working on them,” he said.

Mithun was on the selectors’ radar since 2014, but it was only when he rescued his team on crucial occasions in the Asia Cup that he paved his way back to the ODI team setup. Speaking of changes following the continental tournament where Bangladesh became the runners-up, the right-hander said that the two crucial innings that played in the Asia Cup has enhanced his self-confidence.
According to the 28-year-old, he could have enjoyed a similar scenario long ago but lack of confidence did not let him thrive properly despite his good run in the domestic circuit.
He said: “There hasn’t been any massive change. I'm just like I used to be, only the self-confidence has increased.
“I have the confidence to do well at this stage.
“I scored well in the first match, which never happened before. It [being called up on back-to-back assignments] could’ve happened if I could do that long ago. However, there is no point in thinking about the past. The future is all that matters.”
