Bangladesh Test and T20I captain Shakib Al Hasan has already started his rehabilitation process to restore the strength in his left little-finger as there is no pain in the injured finger right now.
The all-rounder returned to the country on Sunday (October 14) following a one-week stay at the Melbourne Hospital under Dr. Gregory Hoy. Shakib previously had to undergo a surgery upon his return from the Asia Cup to remove the pus from his swollen finger.

“I already have started rehab when I was in there [Australia]. I consulted a hand therapist in Australia. I have to follow the way he instructed. It will be better for me if I follow his guideline as much as possible. My main target will be to restore the strength level,” said Shakib.
Though there is uncertainties over the time of his reoperation on the injured finger, there is a chance that Shakib might not need to go under the knife at all. In both cases, he will have to return to action for a while to see if the infection recurs and for that he has to have enough strength in the finger to grip the ball and the bat properly.
Shakib will not be featuring in Bangladesh’s upcoming home-series against Zimbabwe but he might make a comeback in the next series against West Indies or in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
