Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) selectors have recommended a 15-member squad to the board president ahead of the Zimbabwe series and the squad will be revealed upon its approval.
BCB chief selector Minhajul Abedin has hinted that the squad could be trimmed to 13 members at the beginning of the ODI series, as he does not want to hold too many cricketers outside the playing eleven while the National Cricket League (NCL), the country’s oldest first-class tournament, is going on.

He said: “Our first class matches are going on, where all the players are committed to different teams. So, we are giving a 15-man squad immediately so that no team faces any problem.
“We’re also thinking about releasing two players [from the squad] keeping the other 13 players with the team when the ODI series starts. We’ll finalize the decision after consulting the [head] coach.
“At this moment, we have kept in mind that out first-class cricket faces no difficulties while our players also get the chance to play the maximum number matches.”
Bangladesh will face Zimbabwe in a three-ODI series between 21 and 26 October. On the other hand, the fourth round of NCL will run from 22 to 25 October.
