Bangladesh name squad for upcoming global event

Bangladesh confirmed the squad ahead of the Women’s World T20, on Tuesday (October 9). The tournament will take place between 9 and 24 November and Bangladesh will participate in it as the champions of the qualifier round.
Apart from the recent 4-0 defeat to Pakistan women, the Tigresses journey in the 20-over format has been tremendous in this year so far. Starting with the Asia Cup triumph, they successfully went on to win the Women’s World T20 qualifiers.
Salma Khatun, who led the side to two titles this year, will once again captain the team in the West Indies at the global showpiece event.

While most other regular members, who helped Bangladesh achieve success on both occasions earlier this year, have made it to the 15-member squad, Sharmin Sultana has not found a place in it. However, she has been named among the four standbys.
Bangladesh will face the hosts, West Indies, on the opening day of the tournament before taking on their other two Group A opponents, Sri Lanka and South Africa on 14 and 18 November, respectively.
