Bangladesh’s ‘Mr. Dependable’ Musfiqur Rahim has been one of the pillars of the national team’s batting lineup since they started developing a winning-habit. Although he has set the stage for the Tigers’ win on many occasions, the wicketkeeper-batsman now wants to help his team at big stages.
Being the third-highest run-getter for the Bangladesh national team across all formats, Mushfiqur does not see himself as a legend in the making. However, he does acknowledge the possibility and knows that there is still a long way ahead.

“No, still there is a long way to go,” said Mushfiqur. “Yes, it's been going well – the last four-five years, if I can continue this and singlehandedly win matches for the team on big occasions, then it might be possible. I surely have such plans.
“The biggest thing is, you'll contribute and the team will win – that’s what I always keep in mind.”
Mushfiqur is just 40 runs short of entering the 10,000-run club in international cricket, a feat that has been achieved by 81 cricketers so far, including two cricketers from Bangladesh.
The batsman still has some years of cricket left in him and if he continues with his current form, he will certainly climb up the chart and end his career as a batting legend, at least for his own country.
