Winning a title is important to remove mental barrier: Mashrafe

Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe bin Mortaza said on Sunday that Tigers need to win a tournament to get over the mental obstacles that looks to be playing a decisive part on the all-important day.
Bangladesh failed yet again to get past the final hurdle in a tournament after doing all the hard work as they ended up losing the final in the Asia Cup.
It is not the first time they failed to hold their nerves as this has been the case on three occasions in the last four editions of the tournament.
The loss against India in the Nidahas Trophy or their failure to win over Sri Lanka in the tri-nation at home still remains vibrant in the memory while it all began when they failed to get past the Lankans in another tri-nation at home in 2009.
While they have managed to earn victories in bilateral series, it is not the same when it comes to playing any tournaments considering they have reached six finals of multi-nation tournaments but failed to cross the line on any single occasion.
Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza was clearly embarrassed when a journalist at the Airport upon his return asked him whether he feels that Bangladesh choke under pressure.
“What do you think?” Mashrafe questioned back before taking some time to give his piece of mind.
“Somehow we are unable to make it count [in the final]. If we can earn success on one occasion than probably it will become much easier,” said Mashrafe.
“The way we started it never looked like we were nervous but on the same hand the way our middle-order played it looked we were nervous,” he said.
