The Bangladesh captain, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, believes that the Asia Cup final would have had a different outcome if their spinners could contribute a bit more than what they did against India on Friday.
Bangladesh lost the title-decider in the final ball of the innings as they failed to defend six runs off the last over after getting bundled out for 222 runs.

India needed 63 runs off 83 deliveries with five wickets in hand When MS Dhoni got dismissed but, unlike in the past, Mashrafe opted to bowl only few overs by the spinners despite the fact that the wicket had slowed down considerably.
“If our off-spinners bowled well, the scenario would've been so different.” Mashrafe said. “Mustafiz and Rubel bowled so well that if we could have given them the ball from the 46th over, I think even 25 runs could have been defended,” he said.
“You would always back the spinners when you see the ball turning in the first innings. Mehidy has bowled well throughout the tournament. Mahmudullah was good in the last game. We needed to bring 10 overs from them, but we were struggling to do that. Apu (Nazmul Islam) could have bowled better.
“But you cannot blame the bowlers after setting 223 to win. I think all of you thought in the half-time that we won't be winning,” he added.
