Wessly Madhevere struck a fighting 75 while Brad Evans added a valuable half-century as Zimbabwe recovered from an early collapse to post 199 in 48.1 overs against Bangladesh in the third and final ODI at Harare Sports Club.

Bangladesh ended their Zimbabwe ODIs on a positive note with a commanding seven-wicket victory in the third ODI at Harare Sports Club on Saturday, though the hosts secured the three-match series 2-1 after winning the opening two matches.

Chasing a modest target of 200, Bangladesh reached 200 for 3 in 36 overs, with Tanzid Hasan and Soumya Sarkar producing a match-winning opening stand of 151 runs.

Tanzid fell agonisingly short of a century, scoring 94 off 101 balls with eight fours and three sixes. Soumya played the supporting role brilliantly, making 69 from 82 deliveries, including six fours and two sixes.

The pair dominated the Zimbabwe bowlers for much of the chase before Soumya was bowled by Tanaka Chivanga in the 28th over.

Ernest Masuku dismissed Tanzid with just six runs needed for victory, while Najmul Hossain Shanto remained unbeaten on 18 to guide Bangladesh home.

Earlier, Zimbabwe were bowled out for 199 in 48.1 overs after being sent in to bat by Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

The hosts struggled early as Taskin Ahmed removed Brian Bennett (6) and Ben Curran (2), while Shoriful Islam dismissed Craig Ervine (5), reducing Zimbabwe to 27 for 3.

Zimbabwe recovered through Wessly Madhevere, who top-scored with 75 off 74 balls, and Brad Evans, who added a brisk 50 from 43 deliveries. Their efforts lifted the innings after the middle-order collapse.

For Bangladesh, Shoriful Islam was the standout bowler with 4 for 44, while Taskin Ahmed claimed 2 for 32 and Tanvir Islam picked up 2 for 37.
