Hasaranga tests Covid-19 positive ahead of 3rd T20I against Australia

Sri Lanka all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga has tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of the third T20I against Australia on Tuesday.

Hasaranga will now miss the T20I action, confirmed by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), "Wanindu Hasaranga has tested positive for Covid-19. The player was found to be positive during a routine Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) conducted this morning (15th February). Hasaranga is currently undergoing Covid-19 protocols and is placed in isolation," SLC tweeted.

Sri Lanka Cricket has announced that Jeffrey Vandersay is likely to replace Hasaranga in the squad.

Meanwhile, wicketkeeper-batsman Kusal Mendis, who missed the first two T20I matches due to a Covid virus infection, has fully recovered for the third match today (15th), the SLC said.

Australia already have a 2-0 series lead in the ongoing five-match T20I series. The third T20I match will take place Today at the Manuka Oval Stadium.
