Former Bangladesh coach Jamie Siddons has arrived in the country today [Wednesday] at 4:40 pm to work as a batting consultant for the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

The BCB has hired Siddons for a two-year contract, and he was supposed to start his second tenure with the board today.

BCB cricket operation chairman Jalal Yunus told several media that the board is planning to include him in the national set-up.

From 2007 to 2011, Siddons served as the Tigers' head coach. He had previously worked with Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Shakib Al Hasan, and was essential in their development.

Bangladesh will host Afghanistan for three One-Day Internationals and two Twenty-20 Internationals later this month.

Bangladesh will begin practicing for the Afghanistan series after the current Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) final on February 18.
