The International Cricket Council (ICC) has allowed participating nations in the T20 World Cup to take up to seven additional players and/or support staff to their squad due to corona restrictions. The world body confirmed the matter in a virtual discussion on Thursday (April 1).

According to the previous rules of the world body, the teams could go to play the global tournament with a team of 23 members. Where 15 cricketers could go with 8 member support staff.

However, the ICC is going to make some changes in the rules as the World Cup will be held during the Corona epidemic. Instead of 23 members, this year's World Cup team will have 30 members. This time 7 additional cricketers will be added in the squad along with 23 of the previous rules.

The ICC has decided that if a cricketer's gets affected with coronavirus, he should be replaced immediately. ICC also decided that any team can take extra support staff instead of cricketers. However, in that case, if 1 additional support staff is taken, 6 additional cricketers can be taken in the squad.

Although the ICC has not made a final decision, Cricinfo claims that ICC is abiding by all the rules taken during the epidemic, including neutral umpires, corona alternatives and a ban on the use of saliva on the ball.
