On International Women's Day, Bangladesh Blue team have defeated Bangladesh Green team by 9 wickets in their second match in the women's cricket event of Bangabandhu Ninth Bangladesh Games in Sylhet. Earlier, they beat Bangladesh Red team in their first match as Blue team through to the final with two wins in a row.

Bangladesh Green team could not make a good start by batting first. In the second over of the innings, Fariha Islam Trishna returned Sumaiya Akter to the dressing room by trapping her leg before. Captain Sharmin Sultana tried to form a partnership with Sanjida Islam but could not make it big.

When Sanjida returned with 14 runs from 33 balls, the pair of 26 runs partnership broke. After that, captain Sharmin also returned by run out. She returned to the dressing room with 19 off 53 balls. After that, no other batsman could stand in the whirl of Mumta Hena.

In the end, Green team lost all their wickets in 39.5 overs and scored only a total of 83 runs. Mumta Hena took 4 wickets for 22 runs for the Blue team. Jahanara Alam and Salma took two wickets each. Trishna took 1 wicket, who took 6 wickets in the first match.

Murshida Khatun and Shamima Sultana, the two openers of the Blue team, got off to a great start as they came to chase just 84 runs. They added 58 runs in the opening stand. Murshida returned with 24 runs off 55 balls.

Sanjida Meghla returned the left-arm batsman who scored 24 runs. After that Shamima and Fargana Haque led them to the victory. Shamima was unbeaten on 30 off 47 balls, Fargana remained not out for 21 off 33 balls.
