Abdur Razzak has recently joined the National Selection Committee along with Minhajul Abedin Nannu and Habibul Bashar Sumon as the third member. Besides, Shahriar Nafees is getting an important position in the Cricket Operations Committee of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
On the occasion of the retirement, a function was organized on Saturday at 12 noon near the media center of the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. Before the announcement of the responsibilities given to them by the BCB, the two of them have officially announced their retirement from all forms of cricket. BCB President Nazmul Hassan Papon was present as the chief guest on the occasion.
Razzak is the only bowler in Bangladesh to take 600 wickets in first-class cricket. He bagged 634 wickets in total in his career. In 153 ODIs he has taken 207 wickets for the national team. He took 28 wickets in 13 Tests and 44 wickets in 34 Twenty20 matches.
Besides, Nafees has scored 1,267 runs in 24 Tests. He has 2,201 runs at an average of 31.44 in 75 ODIs.
