The President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Sourav Ganguly had to undergo another angioplasty on Thursday and his health condition is stable now. Moreover, he had a good sleep on Thursday night as well. Currently, doctors are planning to do the other medical examinations on him on Friday, a senior official of the hospital has revealed the news.

Earlier this month, the former India captain had complained of chest pain while exercising at his Kolkata residence. He was rushed to the hospital and diagnosed with three blocked coronary arteries. At that time, he had to undergo an angioplasty during which a stent was inserted in his artery to clear the block.

This time, a series of tests were done on him on Wednesday for a checkup of his cardiac condition and later the doctors decided to perform another angioplasty as well. However, two more stents were implanted this time to clear his blocked coronary arteries.

"Sourav Ganguly's health condition is stable. He had a good sleep at night. All his vital parameters are normal. Senior doctors will carry out a thorough checkup following which a decision will be taken whether to move him to another ward," the hospital official has said to the PTI.

The veteran cricketer was in the ICU on Thursday night after the angioplasty done by a team of experienced doctors including the famous cardiologist Dr Devi Shetty and Dr Ashwin Mehta. Even, the official said that his oxygen support has also been removed as well.
