Tamim urged the Youngsters of the nation to fulfil their national duty

Bangladesh ODI skipper Tamim Iqbal pledged to the young aged people of the country to be at home and fulfil their national duty.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, everyone in Bangladesh have been asked to be at house-arrest as the virus affect largely in social gathering. But a large number of people are roaming around despite the implementation of government lockdown. All government and non-government organizations have been called off until the next notice. All the cricketing event has also been postponed.

Like other athletes of the world, the veteran left-handed opener of Bangladesh Tamim Iqbal has also come forward to aware the people of the country with the United Nations Children's Fund [UNICEF] which is a United Nations [UN] agency responsible for providing humanitarian and developmental aid to children worldwide. But this time Tamim choose the young aged group, Tamim in a video message posted by UNICEF on Thursday in their official Facebook page, asked the young aged people of the country to be at home and keep themselves and the elderly safe as the crisis is looming in the country.

"I have a message to the youngster of the country, if you're roaming outside of your house then you're not only risking yourselves but also risking the elders of your home. Feel this within yourself and try to be at home safe and sound for yourself and for your family," Tamim said in the video message.  

"No matter you are in the city or village try to be at your home. Though the virus is dangerous to the elderly people but then again the young people are also at risk. It can drive you towards death," He added.

Tamim also told the young people to act like a champion and asked them to fulfil their national duty against the coronavirus.

"Try to act like a champion for your country against the virus. Try to be connected with friends and relatives with different medium by keeping social distance. Also try to collect the right information from phone and internet. Give the right information to your family members and neighbours as much as possible. Again saying to the youngsters, try to feel your duty and stay at home and keep your family safe," The ODI skipper said.

Earlier today Tamim also donated a big amount to Footsteps, a charitable organization who are working to provide support towards the underprivileged people of the society. Also on 25 March Tamim Iqbal and his teammates raised a fund of BDT 26 lac by donating their 50 percent of the salary. Where Tamim's share of donation was BDT three lac 25 thousand.
