Shakib formed another fund of BDT 20 lac

Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has formed another fund of BDT 20 lac to help people who are in the most vulnerable position due to the coronavirus pandemic.

On Wednesday 8 April Shakib announced through his official Facebook page, that his charitable foundation 'The Shakib Al Hasan Foundation' and 'Mission Save Bangladesh' has assembled another fund. Where he informed the amount of the fund and also urged people of different class to come in assistance of these underprivileged people with their own ability and capacity.


"The Shakib Al Hasan Foundation in collaboration with Mission Save Bangladesh has accumulated another fund of BDT 20,00,000.00 (Taka 20 lakh) to help the underprivileged citizens of this nation in this dire time," Shakib was quoted in his official Facebook page.

We request you all to lend your hand in the support of the people who needs our aid the most through trustworthy organizations according to your personal ability and capacity," it added.

Shakib on Saturday 28 March launched his own foundation named ‘The Shakib Al Hasan Foundation’ while The Daily Star, Sheba.xyz, and Samakal, have joined hands with The SAH Foundation to launch ‘Mission Save Bangladesh’.

Earlier Shakib raised BDT 20 lac fund to purchase authentic testing kits to be supplied to recognized hospitals and medical institutions.

So far, Mission Save Bangladesh has received donations amounting to 38,64,679 taka from different private organisations and NGOs, with which the initiative will be supporting more than 2,500 underprivileged families.

Besides providing the families with groceries, Mission Save Bangladesh has also been carrying out community-based activities like disinfecting public places.
