Rangpur Ranger's fast bowler Taskin Ahmed said that he is disappointed after being left out from the playing XI in the ongoing Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League but added he is eyeing to make through noteworthy performance if given chance.
Rangers did not include Taskin in their last two games while he was also dropped earlier on one occasion meaning he was not playing in 50 percent of their games.
“It is really disappointing that I could not play three matches,” Taskin told reporters at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
“I will try to play with my best if I get the chance in future,’’ he said adding that he is well aware that he is paying the price of not picking wickets in the three games that he played for Rangers.
The three matches that I have played I went wicket less but I cannot sit disappointed for that. Trying to improve my bowling in the training,” he said.
Taskin said wickets are mostly for the batters in this year’s BPL but he does not want to show any excuse as he blamed himself for his unimpressive form.
“The wicket was so good in Chattogram that the boundaries came even from the good balls. The wickets are batting friendly in this BPL, most of the bowlers are proven costly,’’ said Taskin.
“There were couple of lose balls, that were hit to for boundaries and it might sound as an excuse but I will try my best if I get the chance in future. I could not perform well, that is my failure,” he added.
Rangpur who are reeling along with Sylhet Thunders at the bottom of the point table, having lost five matches in their six encounters- will be facing each other who have to win all their fixtures with an aim to secure play-off berth.
Taskin said they have to play in attacking mood and not repeating their mistakes in order to win all the matches.
“We have to win all matches to play in top-four. We have to play in attacking mood, covering up everything. Every match is important for us,” Taskin said.
“Watson is also there, we are supporting him. He is also inspiring us to play with no fear. We will try our best to play well,” Taskin added.
“This happens according to our team management and the owner. In that case, the management will progress with what they think will be beneficial [for the team],” the right armed fast bowler told regarding the possibility of his inclusion for the next match.
