Dhaka Platoon skipper Mashrafee bin Murtaza took a swipe at Chattogram Challengers stand-in-skipper Imrul Kayes for failing to come up with proper cricketing mannerism during the match between the two sides at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Friday.

Imrul can call himself lucky as Platoon skipper Mashrafee decided not to show him the way to the dressing through a bizarre run out that was very much covered in the cricketing rule book.

The incident happened in 4.4 overs when Shadab Khan broke the stumps after Imrul did not cover the crease after blocking a delivery and instead walked down the wicket to have a look at it.

If Mashrafee insisted on the run out than the left-handed opener would have to return back to the pavilion though it did not happen that way courtesy Mashrafee as he refused to take the game to this level.

‘’Imrul should learn the manners as he did not say thank you to me[ even after we did not call for the third umpire after the run-out incident],’’ Mashrafee told reporters at Mirpur on Friday.

To be honest fielding side can take that out and in cricketing terms, it is very much valid as if we had called for the third umpire he could have given that out,’’ he said

‘’Senior player like Tamim and I don’t want to take that kind of out,’’ he said

Mashrafee added that he is sure that Imrul's recent form in BBPL suggests that he can be quite successful if he returns back to the national fold again.

‘’We have no doubt about Imrul as a player. He is always consistent which is very good and a batsman always feels confident when he scores,’’ said Mashrafee.

‘’Today he played with a lot of responsibility and finished the game for his team and if he gets another chance at Bangladesh team he will carry on from here,’’ he concluded.
