Bangladesh wicket-keeper batsman Mohammed Mithun said on Friday that he is eyeing to establish a place for him in the national team through performing in the upcoming Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League.
Mithun ruined the chance of making a name for him in the just concluded tour of India and as a result, don’t have guaranteed place in the Tigers dressing room.
A stellar performance in the upcoming BBPL just might work for him as team management would be keenly following it to make their squad for the next ICC World T20, scheduled in Australia.
Bangladeshi players don’t have the chance to play a lot of cricket in the shortest format due to lack of tournaments and for them BBPL is the only tournament where they can showcase their talent.
‘’ It[ BBPL will be very useful for us. Because we play T20 format very rarely, except BPL,’’ Sylhet Thunders Mithun told reporters at the academy premises on Friday.
‘’Last year, before the Premier League, we had a T20tournament,’’ he said
‘’Ultimately wherever we are playing, the main goal is to serve for the team. How much we get progress Bangladesh team, that’s the main effort. We have many series after this. If we can complete those successfully, then it will be beneficial,’’ he said.
Mithun was very hopeful of his own form in the coming BBPL as he always try his best for the team but some times luck plays a role in cricket
‘’I always try. The way I had prepared myself, this year I am trying more to do hard work and better my performance and the rest depends on luck,’’ Mithun concluded.
