Zimbabwean batsman Sean Williams said that they should have opted with a proactive approach against the host in the he opening day of the two-match series opener at Sylhet on Saturday

Zimbabwe scored 236-5 in the opening day of the first Test against host and there were several occasion when they looked to be over defensive.

“As a team, we could be a bit more proactive playing spin. Take more singles, few more sweeps, instead of tucking up a lot of balls, 6-7 maidens in a row, and then the sweep shot comes out. If we do that quicker, the game will go ahead a lot faster. 6-maidens,’’ said Williams

Williams credited the host for making their life difficult that forced them to be under their shell for a substantial amount of time.

“It is always a tough situation when you have lost three wickets. I think Bangladesh bowled and fielded really well. Their field sets were tough. It wasn’t easy to get an easy one knocking it on the legside or offside. They were very tight the whole time. It did put a lot of pressure and force us to think about taking risks,’’ he said.
