The Bangladesh cricket team are set to play in their first ever three-match Test series against New Zealand in February-March 2019. This will also be only the fourth time that the Tigers will take part in a three-match Test series.

The first time was against Pakistan in Pakistan in 2003, which the hosts won 3-0, and the same thing happened the second time in 2007 when Sri Lanka beat the Tigers 3-0 in their own backyard.

However, in their third three-match series, they beat Zimbabwe 3-0, albeit at home, in 2014. So, all of Bangladesh’s matches in three-match Test series have provided results.

Ahead of the Test series, the Tigers are going to lock horns in the ODI against the Kiwis. Bangladesh’s form in the longest format of the game has been disturbing, to say the least. They have lost five of their last six encounters and it has been almost a year since they have won a Test match.

However, since there is quite a lot of months before the Test series against New Zealand, the Tigers do have the time to amend things and pose more of a challenge against the Kiwis than they did against West Indies and South Africa.
