Sometimes, sheer raw talent can be enough for a team to move
towards the top echelons of the cricket community. Hard work might be
necessary, but the power of talent can be witnessed in the way Afghanistan have
rose to prominence.
One of the players that have helped them do it is a supreme
talent himself. Rashid Khan is perhaps the best leg-spinner in the world right
and he is now going to be youngest captain in the history of the game when he
leads Afghanistan in the World Cup qualifiers in Bulawayo.
"The doctors have advised that he will be able to
return to cricket in approximately 10 days. Current vice-captain Rashid Khan
will lead the team in his absence," Afghan Cricket Board revealed in a
statement.
He will break the record held by Rajin Saleh, who captained Bangladesh at the age of 20 in the absence of Habibul Bashar in a solitary game against South Africa in the 2004 ICC Champions Trophy.
