Bangladeshi might have lost the first game against Sri Lanka in the T20I series. It wasn’t, however, without any positives. Indeed, the batting of Soumya Sarkar, Mahmudullah Riyad and Mushfiqur gave Tigers a lot of rejoice.

Their bowling might have let them down, but debutant spinner Nazmul Islam was exceptional in his forays. He took two wickets in his four overs while giving away only 25 runs, making a strong statement on his debut.

The youngster praised Shakib Al Hasan for the pre-match advice that the best all-rounder in the world gave him, claiming that the slow left-armer asked him to bowl at the batsmen’s legs.

‘Since it was my first game, I was busy with myself. I was lucky that Shakib [Al Hasan] came to the dressing room suddenly. I discussed with him about how I should bowl. He told me that since the wicket is good [for batting], it would be wise to bowl on the legs and I tried that.’

Speaking of the loss, he revealed that interim coach Khaled Mahmud Sujon pointed out the mistakes from the last game and he now hopes that the team doesn’t repeat them.

‘[Khaled Mahmud] Sujon has discussed about the mistakes from the first [T20I] match. I hope that those mistakes won’t be repeated in the next match. With the grace of Almighty, we will make a comeback in the next game.’
