Bangladesh have risen to fifth position in the ICC World Test Championship standings following a commanding performance against Pakistan, capped by a 78-run victory in the second Test in Sylhet.

The win secured a comprehensive 2-0 series sweep, with Bangladesh’s bowlers finishing off the match in the morning session of the final day by claiming the remaining three Pakistan wickets.

This strong series result has significantly boosted Bangladesh’s position in the WTC table, lifting their win–loss percentage to 58.33.

As a consequence, Bangladesh have overtaken India, pushing them down to sixth place in the standings.

The shift highlights Bangladesh’s improving consistency in Test cricket, particularly with both bat and ball contributing across the series.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh are now ranked 7th in the ICC Test rankings as they reached number 7 for the first time in their cricket history.
