New Zealand won the toss and chose to bowl first in the series-deciding ODI against Bangladesh at the Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram, with the series locked in the balance.

Bangladesh made two changes, bringing in Mustafizur Rahman and Tanvir Islam in place of Taskin Ahmed and Rishad Hossain, while the visitors included Ben Lister for Blair Tickner.

It was Mehidy Hasan Miraz’s third straight toss loss in the series.

Mustafizur returned after missing the first two matches due to injury, including the second ODI where Bangladesh levelled the series with a six-wicket win.
