Brazil pacer Laura Cardoso has made T20I history after becoming the first player in men’s or women’s international T20 cricket to take nine wickets in a single innings.

The historic feat came against Lesotho women's national cricket team, where Cardoso produced stunning figures of 9 for 4 in 3 overs, now the best bowling figures in T20I history.

She broke the previous overall T20I record of 8 for 7, held by Sonam Yeshey, and also surpassed the women’s record of 7 for 0, set by Rohmalia Rohmalia.

Earlier, Brazil women's national cricket team posted 202 runs, with Roberta Avery scoring 48 and Monnike Machado remaining unbeaten on 69.

Cardoso’s remarkable spell included a hat-trick, and she tore through the batting lineup as Lesotho were bowled out for just 13 in 6.2 overs, giving Brazil a crushing 189-run win.
