Bangladesh pacers Shoriful Islam and Nahid Rana have returned home from the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) to join preparations for the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand.

Both players were initially granted No Objection Certificates (NOCs) until April 12, but their franchise Peshawar Zalmi requested an extension to allow them to feature in the April 13 fixture.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board approved the request, after which the duo returned to Bangladesh to join the national camp.

Shoriful, who is featuring in the PSL for the first time after joining Zalmi as a replacement, expressed his desire to return to the league if given another opportunity.

“If possible, I will definitely come back again. Keep supporting us. Hopefully, we will win the title, In Sha Allah.”

The left-arm pacer picked up two wickets in five matches but played a key role in maintaining pressure with disciplined bowling. He also spoke positively about his experience with the franchise.

“Alhamdulillah, I had a great time with the Zalmi family. We enjoyed every moment. The environment, coaches, and culture were excellent. We learned a lot from both training and matches.”

Meanwhile, Nahid Rana has impressed significantly in his debut PSL season. After a modest start, he delivered standout performances, including a brilliant 3 for 7 against Karachi Kings, followed by consistent displays against Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans.

The young pacer, who has taken seven wickets in four matches, highlighted his growing bond with the team.

“I’ve been with the team for two years, so there’s an emotional connection. These moments will stay with me. Zalmi has huge fan support in Pakistan, and I hope they continue backing us the same way.”
