The stars of the U19 World Cup have only one intention: to play for the national team. As a result, the Bangladeshi starlets are using the Dhaka Premier League as a means to push themselves to the biggest stage.

And today, against Agrani Bank, someone from the U19 did just that.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Shinepukur lost their opener Shadman Islam for a duck. Sabbir Hossain left soon, after making just 10 runs. And then came the superb partnership from Uday Kaul and Towhid Hridoy.

They powered the score to 161 before Kaul was adjudged LBW of Abdur Razzak’s bowling. He made 78 from 95 balls before returning to the pavilion.

Meanwhile, on the other end, Hridoy completed a brilliant hundred, finishing with 122 from only 125 balls. Towhid Tareq and Minhaz  Khan scored 22 and 12 each to support the 17 year-old. With the help of his magnificent innings, Shinepukur forged 264 runs.

Agrani Bank need 265 runs to win.
