Of all the teams that are playing in the Dhaka Premier League today, Brothers Union made the best start. While they lost the toss and were put into bat first, openers Mizanur Rahman and Junaid Siddique got great starts.

Rahman scored 36 from 41 while Siddique got to 45 from 61 before they were sent back to the pavilion. Myshukur Rahman came in at number 3 and scored 30 from 41 balls, after which Al Amin got his wicket. Meanwhile JA Simpson also got to double figures, scoring 12 from 14 balls before Monir Hossain wrapped him up.

Then, the seemingly forgotten man of Bangladesh cricket, Alok Kapali, played another fine innings for his Brothers Union team in the Dhaka Premier League today. The all-rounder came in at number four after the top-order gave the team a good start and is currently batting at 78 from 64 balls.

Kapali seems to have taken inspiration from the comeback of Abdur Razzak, who featured against Sri Lanka in the second Test after four years of international hiatus and also took 4 wickets in the first innings in the process.

The right-handed batsman is a man in form. Indeed, he scored an unbeaten 95* in the last game while also taking a wicket. Before that, in a first-class game against Central Zone, he scored 165 not-out to further prove his credentials.

Given that Chandika Hathurusigha is not in the coach of the national team anymore, there is a chance for Kapali to make a comeback should be continue his form.

After his departure, Yasir Ali continued the carnage to score 69 from 63 balls. His innings forced the score of Brothers to 294 in 50 overs after the loss of 7 wickets.

For the bowlers, Delwar Hossain and Ariful Haque took two wickets each, with the trio of Nahidul Islam, Monir Hossain and Al-Amin taking a wicket each.

Prime Bank will now have to chase 295 to win the game.
