After forming a good partnership with Salman Butt, who himself made 62 from 80 balls, Shamsur Rahman departed for 84, missing the century by 16 runs. This is a normal trend surrounding the right-handed pinch-hitter as his conversion rate is quite poor.

Indeed, in the 8 half-centuries that he has made in his T20 career, he could never convert them into 100s. Even in the ODIs, he failed to smash a single century despite making two 50+ scores.

Regardless of that, his innings was brilliant—nothing can be taken away from that as his 84 runs has helped the team reach 230 runs. Shamsur’s innings was supported by Rakibul Hasan Jr’s 27 from 32 balls and Saeed Sarker’s 22 from 31.

In the bowling department of Brothers Union, almost every bowler did a decent job in what appeared to be a great team effort. Be it Alok Kapali’s cunning bowl to get rid of the dangerous Salman Butt or Sohrawordi Shuvo’s trickery to pick the scalp of Shamsur Rahman—it was some compact bowling from the lot.

Shuvo picked up two wickets while Kapali, Sajjad Rony, Khaled Ahmed and Hasan Rana took one wicket each to stop the strong Mohammedan outfit for 230 for 8 after 50 overs.
