After the collapse of the Test series against the West Indies at home, questions have been raised about various issues. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hassan Papon is also trying to find out the reason for such results. Already he had a discussion with three experienced cricketers and selectors from Bangladesh Teams. Following this, the BCB president will also sit with the coaching staff of the national team.
Despite winning the ODI series against the Caribbean, Bangladesh has a lot of shortcomings in the Test series. Even the lack of preparation has been found in the performance of the cricketers.
BCB boss held a meeting with the selectors Minhajul Abedin Nannu, Habibul Bashar, Cricket Operations Committee chairman Akram Khan and HP chairman Durjoy along with Tamim Iqbal, Mahmudullah Riyad, Mushfiqur Rahim after the defeat against the Caribbean. The BCB president also said that he would sit with head coach Russell Domingo, pace bowling coach Ottis Gibson and the rest of the coaching staff.
"There's been a bit of a problem, but I'm glad we had an idea of where the problem was and most of what they're saying is consistent. About 90 percent is right. There is another important meeting today which is with the coaching staff. I will also ask them what they think, where the problem is. Then we will tell them what to do in the days ahead." Papon said at the cricketers' corona vaccination program at Kurmitola General Hospital on Thursday.
The Tigers lost to Afghanistan by 224 runs in 2019 before losing to the West Indies in Test cricket.
“What I want to tell you is that the game that we have seen of the Bangladesh team, especially against Afghanistan and the two Tests that we have seen with the West Indies, this game does not seem to be Bangladesh's game. I don't think it's a Bangladesh team game. When they are playing T20 and ODIs they are playing in a completely different way. Papon further said.
"When we are playing ODIs against the team we are playing well. Where is the problem in the test? The reason I usually sit with them is because I want to hear from everyone where they think the problem is. One thing I can tell you is that I know what is going on.’
