Dhaka Capitals bring Saeed Ajmal as their mentor

Dhaka Capitals have signed former Pakistani spinner Saeed Ajmal as their mentor for the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League.

Ajmal is no stranger to the BPL, having played previously for Dhaka Gladiators in 2011-12 and for Chittagong Vikings in 2015-16. This season, he returns in a new role as a mentor for Dhaka Capitals.

Ajmal boasts an illustrious career, having won the 2009 T20 World Cup and the 2012 Asia Cup with Pakistan. He played 35 Tests, 113 ODIs, and 64 T20Is for Pakistan, taking a total of 447 wickets across formats.

Since retiring as a player, Ajmal has transitioned to coaching, serving as the spin bowling coach for Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and also working with the Pakistan national team multiple times in the same capacity.

Dhaka recently signed a renowned local coach Khaled Mahmud Sujon.

Since joining the BPL, Dhaka Capitals has been in the spotlight. The team is owned by Bangladeshi megastar Shakib Khan’s company, Remark Harlan, who also participated in the most recent BPL draft, adding a touch of glamour to the league.
