A change of plans has been revealed just days after it was announced that Alex Hales would be playing for Dhaka Capitals in this year’s Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). The English opener has suspended his contract with the team due to his upcoming wedding, making his participation in the tournament highly unlikely.
Previously, Dhaka Capitals had confirmed a five-match contract with Hales, but within a week, the situation shifted. Due to his wedding commitments, Hales has asked to put the agreement on hold. Dhaka Capitals extended their best wishes to him for this new chapter in his life.

We had announced the signing of English batsman Alex Hales after receiving his confirmation. However, he has now requested to suspend the contract due to his wedding. We respect this important personal milestone and wish him the best in this new journey."
"From all of us at Dhaka Capitals, our best wishes for the second innings of his life. We know you, our supporters, will always stand by us as we work to build a strong team. Thank you for your unwavering support" he added,
Meanwhile, Dhaka Capitals have secured the signing of Sri Lankan all-rounder Thisara Perera, who will play the entire BPL season. Among local players, the franchise signed left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman a few days ago, and joining him is young opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim.
In addition to local stars, Dhaka Capitals is also negotiating deals with foreign players. If everything goes smoothly, West Indian opener Johnson Charles will play in the Dhaka leg of the tournament.
