The International Cricket Council (ICC) delegation has expressed satisfaction with the progress of preparations for the 2025 Champions Trophy, with Karachi and Rawalpindi set to host matches.
In a productive meeting held in Islamabad with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, the delegation was reassured that stadium upgrades would be completed on time and that robust security measures were in place for the event.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi confirmed the ICC delegation’s positive feedback on security arrangements observed in Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad.
He assured stakeholders that Pakistan is making world-class preparations for the Champions Trophy, with stadium renovations to be completed ahead of the event.
According to a PCB spokesperson, the last venue inspection will take place at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, the only venue still to be evaluated.
A five-member ICC team is set to arrive in Lahore today, with the inspection scheduled for Saturday, September 21. The delegation will rest before conducting a thorough review of the stadium and its preparations.
