Bangladesh Women's A team beat Sri Lanka A by 10 runs in a thriller to seal the T20 series against Sri Lanka, taking an unassailable lead 3-0 in the five-match series at SSC Ground.

Elected to bat first Bangladesh found themselves in trouble and managed to set only 98 runs. However, clinical bowling from Marufa Akter, Nahida Akter and Rabeya Khan helped the Tigress defend the low total.

Openers Shathi Rani (26) and Dilara Akter (13) made a solid start putting 28 runs for the opening wicket. But Malsha Shehani's brilliant bowling display of 4-12 disrupted the batting line-up as batters failed to form partnerships.

Ritu Moni contributed 25 and captain Nigar Sultana scored 12 while others failed to cross double digits as Bangladesh mustered 97-9 in 20 overs.

Defending the target, Sri Lanka could not find its feet in their chase as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals and eventually slumped to 87 runs.

Bangladesh bowlers played an instrumental role as Marufa, Nahida and Rabeya each took two wickets apiece to rattle down Sri Lanka batters.

Kaushini Nuthyanga (21) and Nilakshana Sandamini (22) tried to build resistance in the middle but soon Fahima and Rabeya quickly reinstalled their dominance.
