The BCCI has rejected ICC's offer to host the upcoming Women's T20 World Cup in October, confirmed by the Board's secretary Jay Shah.
The ICC was considering a shift the T20 World Cup due to the ongoing political unrest in Bangladesh following anti-government protests that led to several deaths in the country.
According to Times of India, the ICC is expected to make the final decision on August 20. With India has withdrawn their name as hosts, Sri Lanka and the UAE are the possible alternatives for the tournament scheduled to be held from October 3-20.
"ICC have asked us if we would conduct the World Cup. I have categorically said no," Shah told Times of India.
"We're in the monsoon and on top of that we will host the Women's ODI World Cup next year. I don't want to give any kind of signals that I want to hold consecutive World Cups," he added.
