The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has requested the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) to postpone the upcoming white-ball series scheduled for next month in Greater Noida. The BCB suggested rescheduling the matches for a more suitable window when both boards can agree on new dates, according to ESPNcricinfo.

The ACB had initially proposed a series comprising three ODIs and three T20Is between July 25 and August 6, following a revised schedule that initially included two Tests.

However, the BCB expressed concerns about the weather in that region of India during late July, noting that it wouldn't be ideal for international cricket due to the monsoon season, which typically runs from June to September. The series had already been postponed once before to manage player workload.

Bangladesh's next scheduled series is a two-Test tour in Pakistan starting mid-August, although the exact dates are yet to be announced. In preparation, many of the Test players will participate in red-ball matches, including three internal games in Chattogram and Sylhet, followed by four four-day matches against Pakistan Shaheens in Darwin and later in Pakistan.

Following this, Bangladesh is set to tour India for two Tests and three T20Is from September 19 to October 12. Subsequently, they will host South Africa for two Tests and embark on a comprehensive tour of the West Indies, featuring two Tests, three ODIs, and three T20Is, in November and December.

This demanding schedule is the primary reason the BCB was hesitant to commit to the two Tests against Afghanistan.
