Prime Bank Cricket Club's pacer Rejaur Rahman Raja claimed a record career-best figure in DPL in List A cricket, leading his team to a 199-run victory over Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah today.
Raja returned a figure of 8-23 in his 6.3 overs to bundle out Sheikh Jamal for a mere 71 in 21.3 overs in their pursuit of 271 runs.
Raja surpassed Yeasin Arafat's record of 8-40 for Gazi Group Cricketers against Abahani Limited in the 2018 DPL edition, becoming the 15th time a bowler to claim eight wickets in a List A match.
Indian left-arm spinner Shahbaz Nadeem holds the a figure of 8-10, achieved while playing for Jharkhand against Rajasthan in a Vijay Hazare Trophy match in 2018.
Earlier, Prime Bank captain Zakir Hasan played a master stroke 95-ball 85 and Mushfiqur Rahim's 78 helped Prime Bank post 270 in 50 overs.
Abahani are crowned champions of the 2023-24 edition and Mohammedan Sporting Club holds the runners-up position.
