Mushfiqur Rahim, Tamim Iqbal, Taskin Ahamed and Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto have registered their name for the upcoming Lanka Premier League (LPL) auction. Sri Lanka Cricket Board published a press release on Monday.
The much-awaited auction date will be announced later.
The 5th edition of the LPL 2024 has seen interest from over 500 players from overseas, ready to take the field in the upcoming edition.
Players from 24 cricket-playing nations, including the ones from all the ICC full member nations, have registered for the upcoming player auction and are vying to get picked into one of the five teams of LPL.
LPL, which is Sri Lanka’s top-most domestic T20 tournament, will be held from July 1st to 21st.
Apart from Bangladeshis, Tim Southee, Jimmy Neesham, Ish Sodhi, and Mark Chapman of New Zealand among registered. Shai Hope, Evin Lewis and Andre Fletcher of West Indies, Reece Topley of England, Ibrahim Zadran of Afghanistan are also in the fray.
Usman Khawaja of Australia, Tabraiz Shamshi of South Africa, Naseeem Shah of Pakistan are key players to register.
