Prime Bank won the second round match of Dhaka Premier League by 165 runs against Brothers Union. This is Prime Bank’s second win in a row, while Brothers lost both matches.
One over was shortened from the match as Brothers were delayed to reach the ground due to heavy traffic jams.
Captain Tamim Iqbal dropped to number three as he was late in reaching the field due to traffic jams. Parvez, who played at five in the first match, got a chance to open on the day. Tamim scored 16 runs off 15 balls for three.
Parvez Hossain grabbed the opportunity and scored a century, while Shahadat Hossain also scored ton to lead Prime Bank to 380 for 4. This is the third highest score in this edition.
Parvez scored 151 runs in a career best innings. In his 129-ball innings of 9 fours and 8 sixes, he won the Man of the Match award.
Besides, Shahadat scored 111 off 111 balls in his fifth century in List 'A' cricket. He added 246 runs in the opening partnership with Parvez.
Chasing the target, Brothers stopped at 215 for 9 wickets.
