Taskin Ahmed's franchise career has been going great as he is currently playing for Bulawayo Braves in Zimbabwe's Zim Afro T-10 League. So far, he has played three matches and taken 5 wickets with excellent bowling. He is also the second highest wicket taker of the tournament.
In the meantime there is another offer came for him from another franchise league. Taskin has been offered to play for Dambulla Aura in Sri Lanka's domestic competition, Lanka Premier League (LPL). Taskin himself confirmed the matter today [Monday].
This year's LPL will start on July 30 and continue until August 20. Bangladesh team has no game at that time.
However, special camps of the national team will be held in Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet. Whether Taskin will be allowed to play in the Lankan league is yet to be decided.
Taskin also had the opportunity to play for county team Yorkshire this year. But it did not happen due to the busy schedule of the national team. He also got offers to play in PSL and IPL last year. But he turned down the offer to play PSL for Multan Sultans for the same reason.
IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants also wanted him. But he didn’t have the NOC due to Bangladesh team's tour to South Africa.
Meanwhile, Towhid Hridoy also got offer from Jaffna Kings to play three to four matches, in place of Pakistan star Shoaib Malik, who is currently playing in the GT20 Canada.
The Under-19 World Cup Champion player has already got No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
It will be the first overseas T20 league experience for Hridoy if he goes to Sri Lanka, who made his debut for the national team earlier this year.
Another U19 World Cup winner Shoriful Islam also contacted by another LPL team Colombo Strikers, the left-handed pacer is waiting for the NOC.
Shakib Al Hasan & Mohammad Mithun have already signed by Galle Titan as Shakib is their icon player and Mithun was signed during the draft.
