Ranji Trophy set to return from November

After a Covid-19-induced cancellation in 2020-21, the Ranji Trophy will resume to the Indian domestic calendar for the 2021-22 season. The BCCI said on Saturday that all events, including those for all age categories and women, would be held in India for the 2019 season.
The Ranji Trophy has been scheduled in a three-month window, from November 16, 2021 to February 19, 2022.
The Senior Women's One Day League will begin on September 21, followed by the national T20 tournament for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, which will take place from October 20 to November 12. Four days later, the Ranji Trophy will begin.
The Mushtaq Ali tournament will take place in the UAE and Oman from October 17 to November 14, 2021, in conjunction with the men's T20 World Cup, which also will be held in the UAE and Oman. The BCCI is anticipated to add new franchises for IPL 2022, with a big auction taking place after the Mushtaq Ali tournament concludes in December.
The 50-over Vijay Hazare Trophy will follow closely on the heels of the Ranji Trophy's conclusion, beginning on February 23, with the final scheduled for March 26.
The Covid-19 epidemic is to blame for the jam-packed calendar. While the Mushtaq Ali and Vijay Hazare trophies were both held last season, the longer window required for India's premier first-class competition, the Ranji Trophy, to be staged in its customary home-and-away format, was not feasible.
The Ranji Trophy was not played in the 2020-21 season for the first time since its start in 1934-35, with the event taking place even during World War II.
