Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim has been ruled out of the side's T20 World Cup opener against the USA which is set to be played on June 6.
Wasim will be sidelined due to a side strain, confirmed by Pakistan captain Babar Azam. However, there is hope for his participation in subsequent matches depending on his recovery.
Babar remained optimistic about Wasim’s availability for the remaining matches, stating, “Although Imad won’t play the first game, we hope that he will be available for the rest of the matches,”

Wasim reversed his retirement decision and returned to the T20 World Cup squad. He picked 6 wickets for Pakistan in 6 matches since his comeback in April, making a strong case for selection in the playing XI.
