BBL window clash causes lack of Australian players in BPL, says Cutting

Australian all-rounder Ben Cutting has come to play Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) for the first time as he will play for Sylhet Strikers. He faced the media in Mirpur before the first day of practice Wednesday. This Aussie cricketer revealed why Australian cricketers can't come here even if they want to play BPL.
Cutting essentially brought up the issue of multiple franchise leagues running at the same time. While no one can leave the Big Bash League in their country during the BPL.
“It's a pretty simple reason. To be fair, it clashes with the big bash in Australia. Obviously there's not too many Australians outside of myself that are playing primarily overseas as freelance cricketers. There's probably one or two of us to be fair and the other one is Chris Lynn. He's playing big Bash so that's the sole reason. I'm sure a lot of guys would love to get over here and play BPL and sample the BPL, particularly in the old window when it was later in the year before Big Bash. It's just the window that hurts it at the moment,” Cutting said.
Cutting is happy with the Sylhet team, and said it’s a very strong and balanced lineup.
“I think the side's very balanced. I just met most of the guys for the first time today. A few of them I played against over the years. But it's great to be on the same side of them for a change. And I think we've got a pretty strong and balanced lineup. A good combination of overseas guys mixed with the local guys as well, which is what you want in a tournament like this” the Australia said.
Earlier, David Warner, Steve Smith, Brad Hodge, Shaun Tait have played in BPL. But now Australian cricketers are not available that much in BPL.
Cutting has come to play BPL as the only Aussie cricketer, who did not play Big Bash this time. He said that he wants to entertain this league by hitting sixes.
“I hope you can expect the few sixes. I'm looking forward to getting out there with the bat and the ball and having a good couple of games with the guys” he added.
