Former Pakistan batsman Mohammad Yusuf jokingly said he hopes Bangladesh team to be struck by lightning so that Pakistan can make the impossible to possible one by making their way into the semifinal.
Pakistan is facing an improbable task to make their Semifinal possible. If Pakistan bats first, they then need to score 400 and dismiss Bangladesh for 84. That’s a win margin of 316 runs – never been achieved in the history of one-day cricket, let alone at a tournament such as the World Cup.

And If Bangladesh bats first, then Pakistan are out even before the game begins. Seeing this impossible task ahead, Yusuf believes only if lightning hits then it’s possible to beat Bangladesh in this margin.
“Pakistan is out of the World Cup there is no doubt about it. Only if lightning strikes Bangladesh and they get all-out for 10 runs then only we have a chance. This scenario is very very difficult,” Yusuf said.
Yusuf believes there is no chance for Pakistan to make it to semifinal now. He also said, winning in this margin is a tough job even if Pakistan plays against a fake team.
Even if you are playing against a fake team, to win by 316 runs according to me a tough job,” Yusuf added.
Pakistan will play their last match against Bangladesh on July 5 at Lords. The match will start at 3.30 pm (BD Time).
