Supreme Thisara and more--5 moments from the SL-Zim game

Sri Lanka seem to have finally fixed their below-par bowling, as they won the ODI against Zimbabwe on Sunday. The island nation has got their first win in the tri-nation series after having lost to Bangladesh and Zimbabwe once each.
The Lankans thrashed Zimbabwe with a 5 wicket victory at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium. A defeat for Sri Lanka in this match would result in Zimbabwe reaching the final of the series.
Sri Lanka restricted the Chevrons to 198 runs and chased it in 44.5 overs. They got their first victory after the new head-coach – Chandika Hathurusingha after the skipper, Angelo Mathews, was sent home due to a hamstring tightness.
Now we present you the 5 moments of the 4th ODI of the tri-series between Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.
#1 Thisara Perera hits four-fer
Throughout the whole tri-nation series, only Thisara Perera was performing consistently among the Sri Lanka players. Today he proved his importance in the squad again by taking a four-wicket haul in the 1st innings.
Thisara Perera dismissed all four of the Zimbabwean top-order batsmen including the half-centurion of this game – Brandon Taylor.
After his first spell, Zimbabwe posted 70 runs losing 3 wickets in 16 overs with Perera scalping all three. In his second spell, he bagged the wicket of Brandon Taylor who was batting on 58.
The Zimbabwean batting line-up could not recover from the early blow that Perera had given with his destructive bowling, and finished their innings on 198 losing all the wickets.

#2 Taylor looks to salvage some pride
Brandon Taylor returned to the format after two years and could not come up to the expectations in the first two ODIs of the tri-nation series. However, today he picked up a half-century with a fine batting display.
Taylor scored 58 off 80 balls before getting out by Thisara Perera. The keeper-batsman built the highest partnership of 66 runs for his side along with Malcolm Waller. Then Peter Moor scored a diamond duck following Waller’s departure making 28 runs.
Zimbabwe’s hopes of batting out their full 50 overs were over when Taylor got out.
#3 Nuwan Pradeep crushes tailenders
After Thisara Perera’s phenomenal bowling, Nuwan Pradeep took the responsibility to strangle the tailenders to confine Zimbabwe to 198 runs.
Pradeep remained wicketless until his 7th over and stroke thrice in his next two overs. He dismissed Kyle Jarvis on 5 runs to mark his first wicket in the match. Then he took the wicket of the Zimbabwean skipper who was looking for chances to stretch their total further.
Cremer made 38 runs before returning to the pavilion. 3 balls later, Pradeep bowled out Blessing Muzarabani to finish off the innings in 43 overs.
#4 Kusal-Kusal partnership
The middling target set by Zimbabwe could have been tricky to chase if Sri Lanka batsmen could not string together partnerships.
Losing their first wicket on 33 runs, as Upul Tharanga left the pitch on 17 runs following his dismissal, Sri Lanka needed a good response from the next batsman – Kusal Mendis.
Kusal Mendis along with Kusal Perera, built a 70-run partnership to take the Sri Lankan total past 100 runs. Perera then got out by Muzarabani scoring 49 runs. Two overs later, Mendis was bowled out by the same bowler scoring 36 runs.
#5 Chandimal-Perera stand firm
After being 5 down at 145, Dinesh Chandimal and Thisara Perera built an unbeaten partnership of 57 runs to avoid any late drama. Chandimal scored 38 runs, while Perera contributed with 39 runs.
They finished off the innings on 202 runs to seal the game with 31 balls remaining. Chandimal stood firm and faced a total of 71 deliveries, while Perera displayed a quick-fire innings facing 26 balls.
